On this day 29 years ago, Special Operations Forces were engaged in a fierce battle in Mogadishu, Somalia. MSG Gary Gordon and SFC Randall Shughart would receive the Medal of Honor posthumously for their actions that day. In the end, 18 U.S. troops were killed.

Today we remember Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Bailey Tucker, Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Sarah Burns, Naval Air Crewman (Helo) 2nd Class James Buriak, Lt. Paul Fridley & Lt. Bradley Foster. Killed 1 year ago when their helicopter Loosefoot 616 crashed off the coast of San Diego.
