On this day 29 years ago, Special Operations Forces were engaged in a fierce battle in Mogadishu, Somalia. MSG Gary Gordon and SFC Randall Shughart would receive the Medal of Honor posthumously for their actions that day. In the end, 18 U.S. troops were killed.
