What bothers me is that the majority of the AI research community sees psychology, cognitive science, and neuroscience as all the same thing. They are not.
if we are to advance, we need to both understand the differences between different disciplines, and to transcend traditional boundaries

The terms we use like "prior knowledge", "a priori", "innateness", etc. are all treated differently in different contexts. I've realized that when a Bayesian says "a priori" they are talking about something entirely different than what I think of it in HTM.

In HTM, the only prior knowledge is: - architectural structure of neurons in cortical simulation - hard encoding techniques for sensors to translate reality into bits - hard coding techniques for mapping predictions to motor actions - built in incentive to predict well
