1. I just listened to Harry Shearer's interview of @GaryMarcus (see link). Marcus is an intelligent speaker who speaks from the conviction of having actually given serious thought to the subjects that he talks about. His arguments for more innateness in the brain are solid.
our internal and occasionally flawed represensation of the world is an educated guess/reconstruction, as any good cognitive scientist ought to know. but why should that entail dualism? robots routinely reconstruct representations via SLAM; strictly physical.

Robotic representationalism is illogical. There is no 3D vista or image either in the brain or the world. It's just a bunch of neurons firing. The 3D vista exists but it's not physical. This is why dualism is inevitable. But I only write this for non-materialists and agnostics.
