        Simple collision avoidance using LIDAR could not handle this? Strange. Does not even require AI.

        I don't think Tesla Model S has Lidar on it; its cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors

        A bit disingenuous to say this is a Tesla issue when (I’m guessing) you’re aware it’s a problem with all self driving vehicles.
