Yes, some of us should. I was responding to a post that argued that biology was the ONLY way to reach AGI. Let’s pursue all promising paths. There are risks and opportunities along each of them.
Agreed: there are many potential applications in AI for which humans are a poor guide, with their kluge-y limitations.
