well ANN's certainly don't explain human arrogance
I 'd love to see a model that explains why my 3 year "thinks" he understands so much yet knows so little. you need much more sophisticated models of approximation / symbolic-ish to do that.
if your 3-year old is typical he probably overestimates his knowledge but also probably knows more about language, social cognition and dynamic motor control than any robot that has yet been built.
