I'll remind you that yesterday you referred to me as having "shocking hubris". But yeah, sorry if my pointing out that you don't seem to be aware of all the applications of ANNs in neuroscience was too insulting for you.
Science is a busy place and I am sure there are papers I haven't read. Many examples still seem like classification to me, & most such studies I have seen explain eg half the variance, which very much leaves causality open. But I am open to other examples, if presented civilly.

I reiterate: I was not any more insulting here than you were yesterday. But, I am sorry for being unnecessarily aggressive. Twitter brings it out sometimes... It is the lack of face-to-face signals that we are all wired for.
