A bit more of context: it's also open to debate (see "Cerebral Cortex: principles of operation" by E. T. Rolls, 2016) whether it has more weight to model the details of a neuron (apical, cortical, etc.) or it's more important the topography / structure / "algo" (@JeffCHawkins)
