      astonished that anyone knowledgeable could claim that neural nets are (obviously) an “abstraction of neural processing” when we don’t yet know how brains work. if you don’t know how Y works you can’t really speak with certainty about whether X is an abstraction of Y.       GPT-2 is so wrong as model of natural language understanding it is diverting from real questions that need to be answered (eg how does a listener construct a model of what speaker is trying to say). people should recognize limits & move on. instead they collect bigger data sets.
