A. Not enough of a model to figure out that two plus two is four. You are being too generous. B. Yes, linguists have a learned lot. But almost none of what they are learned is leveraged. That's the real problem.
Agree on both. I am being generous. Fully expect systems to fail for a *very* long time as we get better at detection and understanding. And totally agreed that throwing compute power at the problem is now into diminishing returns. But I would say that, coming from psychology.
