I am confused. Is someone claiming that by ingesting lots of language, one can learn everything a typical human knows? Surely our knowledge also comes from actually being in the world and doing stuff?
I suppose they would... But what reason is there to think that such a system should work? Has there been any *human* who has developed intelligence while being trained in a similar manner to these algorithms?
Hope you can shed some light on this question Gary : certain knowledge of the world has no symbolic prior than the experience itself. Eg. Embodied experience of Body-environment interaction. Question: how far can we go with datasets to make machines acquire such knowledge?
