      Thinking more about this, I'm also not sure that event cognition really captures the idea of narrative. Events are perhaps the building blocks of narrative, but don't explain the representation of the story itself.

      Testing understanding of "simpler" components that seem potentially important to narrative understanding might be worth thinking about. For example, testing understanding of: time, place, people and other entities exhibiting agency, social interactions, causality, composition.
