Pretty sure the AI community isn't "at war." So far it's been polite academic disagreements via Twitter. Almost ironic in some sense, Hyperbole abounds.

I agree with this assessment. To me it seems clear that OpenAI 1) does real research but also 2) is an AI hype machine. However, it’s understandable given the incentives in place to build up that hype. Many in AI try to sensationalize their work. OpenAI is just winning at this.

Gosh I hope they are debating or discussing something a bit more interesting than an ai robot can solve an algorithm? Like how vintage? How about ai robot ethics like should their be ai robot workers rights like a wage or salary?
