All demonstrations carry a degree of smoke and mirrors; heaven knows that we in computing have all done this at one time or another. But when one generates excessive smoke and uses unnecessary mirrors, it diminishes the kernel of wonderful truth you are trying to uplift.

I also agree with Gary. This could have been a minor but important clarification. The fact that you're digging in your heels so hard suggests that there are some major perspective differences that need to be ironed out.
