How do this arguments over "semantics" help AI at all? Do you think it is constructive?
In published work, both Rubik's & Go, deep reinforcement learning does NOT suffice on its own, but rather has to be coupled w a tree search algorithm adapted from classical AI. In the end of day, a significant number of people liked and retweeted my analysis precisely because they felt deceived once they understood they gap between the video clips they saw & what was actually happening. just calling it semantics doesn't capture that.

There's nothing about RL that precludes an agent from using a tree search (or anything else). This wasn't misleading either, tree search was in the title of the paper.
