I'm not a field leader but, if and when Marcus decides to abandon both GOFAI and deep learning and embrace event-based neuromorphic networks, I will take back everything I said about him.

It's sad, but not surprising, that NN/DL has not advanced from the ad hominem attacks on John Hopfield I witnessed at IJCNN... in 1987. (It's why I left NN and did other things instead.) Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
