that was the emphasis in the research which (as I said in an early tweet was impressive) but not the emphasis in how it was presented to the world. therein lies the problem.

Okay we are of the same mind then. I find that there's a whole lot of misrepresentation in the reporting about Machine Learning Research. I would usually chalk that up to the perils of being at this point in the Gartner Hype Cycle and clarify things when I can.
