I am sure if corporations can come to terms with Coopetition, all the great adversarial AI researchers can come together when it has the potential to reshape the human race. Causation based deep learning could even help tackle gnarly problems such as #ClimateChange.
unlikely though it may be, this sort of adversarial collaboration would actually be great for the field.

LOL. No it wouldn't. Neither GOFAI nor deep learning is relevant to solving AGI. The future of AGI is in event-based, neuromorphic networks aka spiking neural networks. Causality is based on temporality which should be fundamental to the design of an AI system, not an add-on.
