If your AI solution needs common sense to be effective, then you are asking the wrong questions and using the wrong technology.
if you can solve the problems in reading and robotics and ethics that we describe in http://rebooting.ai without common sense, I am all ears. but this reads as a shallow dismissal, in that it does not engage in a single example and show an alternative solution.

I don't argue that you can solve them without common sense. I argue that we don't need robotics and AI to do the things you describe in your examples. It is just tech for tech's sake.
