      thousands, but human drove way more miles and we should still be concerned about characteristic (repeated) patterns of fatalities.

          Given that they can combine the collective experiences of the whole fleet into a single model (more experience a single human brain could ever collect) I think it is quite plausible autonomous driving capability can become superhuman pretty soon.
