The straw-man argument that AI is not producing value is not, I believe, what
@GaryMarcus has said. That's obviously false. Rather he's argued that we are far from complex symbolic reasoning. I don't know if that matters; but debating a 1-line quote is shooting fish in a barrel.

Well, the list isn't even fair in the first place. translate:ok, recognize faces:in theory good might help disabilities bt in practice--useless, detect diseases:WIP, optimize wildfire fighting: not on its own & prolly not vital,save endangered species:hasn't actually done this
