I call the brain a data processing machine. Calling it a computer implies it's a sequential processor, which it is not, and gets me into arguments. But neural networks are successfully simulated on sequential computers, performing tasks some asserted only to the brain could do

Even single-processor serial computers can ably multitask and behave just like parallel systems. The difference is quantitative, not qualitative. A serial computer with enough speed and memory could in theory simulate the entire human brain in real time
