I call the brain a data processing machine. Calling it a computer implies it's a sequential processor, which it is not, and gets me into arguments. But neural networks are successfully simulated on sequential computers, performing tasks some asserted only to the brain could do

The most important structure in the neocortex is the cortical column. Each CC contains about 100 minicolumns on average. There are over 100 million minicolumns in the human brain. Unless we understand their functions and purpose, we will not solve the intelligence puzzle.
