“Likely already better than Somalia” with more than 4K deaths per 100K vehicles per year. Of course I don’t know for sure if that’s true and we obviosly can’t do a contrlled experiment to find out.

I agree neural nets can’t reason like humans and don’t learn the way we do either (we don’t need to see thousands of examples to learn what a horse looks like). And they are far from being safe enough to let on the road. But I’m not persuaded that driving requires AGI.

I would be totally satisfied if sthg else could replace reasoning & common sense for AVs. However, DL doesn't seem to be the answer.
