Maybe they should have ironed out the flaws in a clinical setting before hyping the Watson platform like crazy. If the errors were in fact due to synthetic data then clearly they misunderstand the importance of good data in AI output.

Good point. Relying on synthetic data is like using lego to build an actual house. Maybe it will look like a house 'till it collapses.

Accuracy of diagnoses is not a radiologist’s problem. Our phone rings constantly to answer questions - some of which are very basic. We enjoy looking at pictures and are good at it. Practical (but not sexy)
