Depends how you assess outlier. If you compare ratio of AI accidents/deaths to humans drivers, the “problem” is much smaller. Not to mention AI will only improve as each vehicle accumulates data and adds to the geocoded whitelist; and that doesn’t account for future innovations.

In last 2 year’s the CA death was on route navigated approx 90k times before the unfortunate outlier. The fatal 2016 crash in FL was judged the fault of truck driver, not Tesla. True ratio is 1 death in 2 years/miles driven. What numbers do you have showing humans are safer?
