        As I understand it they've been pretty explicit about the use of integrated hybrid systems since the beginning. Is that not the case?

        The november Nature paper was radically anti-nativist, as I discuss in my AlphaGo and innateness paper on arXiv. So was the Atari game system, to give two prominent examples.

        Wow, Gary! How quickly did DeepMind pivot there... It was on;y a year ago with all the 'game' winning, when DeepMind was doctrinal about some combination of DRL and LSTMs conquering the AGI problem...
