You have my deepest respect on all that. It's really the issue of denialism that I'm getting at. We face huge social, economic. political & security challenges from the rise of #AI, whether you think HLAI = 2029 or 2069. "It's all a lot of hype" is the wrong message.
Partly agree, though I think we should gear our policies around a realistic understanding the timing of various scenarios. More immediate problem is what do with unreliable AI, not superintelligence.
Totally agree. But I'm tired of all the articles that start off with "It's not Skynet, it's biased algorithms." No, it's Skynet, too, or whatever that stands for. It's #KillerRobots. It's economic & social disruption. Long-term, it's superintelligence, too.
