Back outside the White House. Today the perimeter has been pushed back another half block. Federal law enforcement of some kind, but they won’t identify themselves, and all insignias and name plates have been removed.pic.twitter.com/q5dmdMgkLV

The Twitter hive mind has run pictures of the various insignias and flags and folks seem to think these are probably a Bureau of Prisons SORT (special operations) team, maybe from Texas.https://special-ops.org/federal-bop-special-operations-and-response-teams-sort/ …

Whoever those guys were, they’ve now been replaced by DC National Guardsmen (with DC flags on their chests)

Shift change: National guard has been replaced with a different unit. One officer identified himself to protestors as being with “DOJ”, another said he was from California, and one has a Bureau of Prisons patch on his vest. No name plates.pic.twitter.com/QIjNlMTfsQ

Another shift change in DC tonight: on the line across 16th street right now are Utah national guardsmen (who identified themselves when I asked)pic.twitter.com/7Kv6HyNlUw

Just In: NBC’s Mike Kosnar obtains a statement from the Bureau of Prisons about their un-badged officers in DC. It’s long so I screen-shotted it, and their previous statement, sent upon their deploymentpic.twitter.com/BbTdJNDpBg

Closeups. A lot of them are federal Bureau of Prisons officers. SORT stands for Special Operations Response Team, a BOP tactical unit. Probably based in Texas going off the flag patches and “FCC Beaumont.” pic.twitter.com/WAQDtuiUik

Doesn't law enforcement need to identify themselves in order for their commands to be deemed lawful? If these guys are debadged/no id, then can't we just tell them to piss off?

All this change up is to keep us from identifying them. Mixing them up was their only option so that they could continue to find a way to avoid accountability. We MUST hold them accountable.

Seems to me they are hired security contractors. The one with the patch is from USP Atwater which is a high security penitentiary in California. Not being able to ID these men means they can get away with literally anything. There will be no way to tell who is who at night.
