And on the trade topic, China isn’t paying “tens of millions of dollars in tariffs.” American taxpayers pay tariffs. They’re taxes. Paid by Americans. Not China.

And tarriffs will be 100% paid by American consumers, who also happen to be U.S. taxpayers

It also still has to be ratified by Congress before it goes into effect. For now we're still using NAFTA.

Exactly. The USMCA (and all free trade treaties) reduces the money government collects from tariffs and duties that can be used for a Wall. The only entities who save money are the private businesses that actually do the trade.

American Goods going to Mexico will have tariffs on them. Mexico citizens will pay these tariffs which will put money in the US treasury. Then the money will be used to pay the wall debt off
-
Not how tariffs work!
-
Thats exactly how they work. Heres a simple example: US product - 4.00 US tariff - 0.50 Total - 4.50 Mexican citizens pay 4.50 US citizens pay 4.00 That 50 cents goes to the US government
-
Tariffs imposed by Mexico on US goods imported to Mexico would be paid to Mexico. Mexican consumers end up paying more for the product bc the company has to pay the tariff. If you reverse that US consumers pay more for imported stuff that has a tariff. So we pay for the wallpic.twitter.com/qq0ljlgvXU
-
We export goods to mexico, we put a tax on those goods. That tax is called a export tariff. When those goods cross the border Mexico has to pay the tax to the US government Ur thinking of import tariffs, which increase the price of foreign Goods that come into the US
-
Export tariffs are rare. What product do you think we’ll put those on? I’ll wait...pic.twitter.com/1yAlidghOc
