My latest piece explains how the original "Military Industrial Complex" has morphed into something much more frightening -- a Permanent War State in which the political power of a drone contractor is a crucial factor.

The corporate media hype over Gen. Milley's call to reassure Chinese last October that there would be no U.S. nuclear attack ignored the key fact: the Chinese were nervous primarily because of the US military's own very aggressive actions toward China.

Steven Donziger is the victim of one of the most bizarre exercises of corporate manipulation of the justice system in American history for going after Chevron's toxic dumping in Ecuador. He's another American hero who shouldn't be going to prison. Chevron should.

Central Command is still denying criminal malfeasance in the drone bombing that killed ten innocent AfghansAcc. Pentagon isn't taking any responsibility for investigating it. So CENTCOM is investigating its own crime! Behold accountability Pentagon-style.

The NY Times' account of the route of the car bombed in Kabul by a US drone makes it clear the deadly decision was made by a team that might as well have been the three stooges. Read it and demand an end to this bloody nonsense.

Nowhere unless millions insist on it and agree on what it should mean! Personally I insist that it should mean identifying personal responsibility for all decisions to keep troops in Afghanistan after the original supposed mission was fulfilled -- especially in 2002-2005.

I was wrong to assume the US drone strike that killed 10 people in two families in Kabul was about lack of concern for innocent bystanders. The military hit the wrong car bc of shabby intel work. It's time to end drone strikes, which invite casual murder.

Longtime anti-war journalist brings the corporate news media to account for their complicity in the endless failed and criminally stupid suite of wars that followed 9/11. Well done, Kelley!

After DOD shifted to competition with Russia and China and US began exit from Afghanistan, the Special Ops bureaucrats worried they would lose out, but they're still hawking their product at the never-ending "defense" trough dispensing $ trillions.

Taliban came across her family hiding at the market, the fighters advised them not to return home until someone could sweep for mines. I first encountered her in a safe house in Helmand. “I’ve never met a foreigner before,” she said shyly. “Well, a foreigner without a gun.”

To understand why all the media's bleating about US war to save Afghan women was such a lie, Anand Gopal's account is a must read. The horror of the US war is told in detail: the endless bombing and pitiless pillage of farmers by the US warlord ally.

Surely the policy of depriving of water is such a heinous crime that all but hardcore Zionists will raise their voices in condemnation and insist on official US pressure to stop it.

Pentagon and US military refuse any responsibility for "collateral damage" deaths accompanying bombing in urban areas. They don't care innocent civilians, because they've always gotten away with it. They should be held accountable for war crimes.

In a supremely ironic revelation on the final U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan it turns out all 10 civilians killed were relatives of an interpreter for a U.S. company who feared Taliban retribution and was trying to get a special U.S. immigration visa.

In a major signal that Taliban government will not revert to pre-2001 practices, spox says women will be allowed to return to work (beyond medical) after troops are trained to respect their rights. Good news if new government keeps that promise.

Poor war contractor CACI! It is suffering terribly because of the Afghanistan War finally actually being ended. Its profits are waaaay down! Can't Washington do something to ease its pain -- maybe gin up another long war in Iraq or Syria?

In a final paroxysm of US violence in Afghanistan, a drone killed 10 members of 2 Kabul families, including children. US military claimed it had hit "suspected" ISIS terrorists. A bloody lie to end the murderous, self-serving 20-yr US military operation.

Corporate media revealed their real loyalty the war state in response to the Taliban takeover with furious hostility to Biden's refusal to accept the DOD-military demand in April for a log-term US presence and phony claim of a new terrorist threat.
