I always thought the collective noun for teenage boys was a slouch or a grunt; teenage girls were a shriek or a withering.

This is 110% true, but I also don't think this mom is giving herself enough credit for raising a spectacularly kind and thoughtful young man.

Mentioned that in a Facebook post yesterday. Growing up, my guardian always stayed involved in the games I played and knew at least 80% of the people I interacted with. Reading this warmed my heart

Yeah. Sweet. I wouldn't trust my 8yr old son or that 10yr old to play online. They are not all benevolent 16yr olds. Mine won't play online till he is at least 16 like yours and has had a serious talk before. Paranoid dad over here.

Can always just let him online and turn the chats off, lots of online video games are a lot of fun and many kids intro to video games
