The avocado rootstock #inarching concept has other implications:
1. Inventors may be able to sell their product lines to existing acreages, rocket boosting profitability
2. Salinity fighting rootstocks can save huge 'sunk cost' mature cvs

3. If rootstocks for inarching are seedling derived, then the odd 'non-performer' can be fixed by adding another seedling inarch.
4. Conversely, 'hyper-performer' seedling inarchs could be identified and reproduced clonally.

An interesting concept. I had a similar idea once... planting several rootstocks together and bundling the trunks so the resulting tree had all the advantages of each.
