Looks like the day I've been dreading since last June finally came. My laptop refuses to charge 😭 It was touchy before but now it's just straight up not charging. RIP. Salvaging documents and files now...

BGM has always been one of my favorite aspects of video games - it can completely change the atmosphere. That's why choosing the music for my visual novel is probably the most enjoyable and exciting task for me 😊

As this year comes to a close, I just want to express how grateful I am to be able to pursue my dream during trying times. Thank you to everyone who follows me and interacts with me, and though I don't want to call it a "resolution", I promise to be more active on here in 2021!

I'm conflicted about whether I should release Chapter 1 of my game as a demo while I polish the rest of it or if I should just release it all at once. How much does a demo get you excited for a game? What do you prefer?

So before Nanowrimo I re-read this book! It's aimed at novel writers, but I've found almost all the advice can apply to VN writing. I definitely haven't written 10,000 words in a day, but I do think it's helped me quite a bit in increasing productivity😊

Usually I write scenes when the mood strikes and organize them later, but for my current project I've been challenging myself to write chronologically! I feel like this will help me a lot in the end since there are branching options.

Some days working on your game is fun, and other days you're stuck converting files for 2 hours 😅

Every weekend I tell myself I'm going to get so much done, but it seems I'm more productive on the weekdays despite working. 😅 I guess I just need that time to totally relax and decompress!

...and they pointed out that the writing went bad when they stopped focusing on the characters themselves and started making the chars move the plot along. It clicked- this was exactly what I started doing wrong! I was trying to get from Point A to Point B in my outline.

Lately it's been tougher to write my script and I noticed the stuff I've been able to get out is lower quality compared to what I was writing before. I couldn't figure out what the issue was until I was watching a YouTube video about Game of Thrones Season 8 (lol)...

I was having trouble writing last night, but tonight I put on BGM + ambient sounds that fit the scene I'm trying to write and the words are flowing so much easier. ☺️
