It dropped more between 2006 and 2008 than it did between 2018 and 2020. Why? I am trying to remember what happened that made Rs worried about voting integrity in 2008 and I'm coming up blank. This year, there is at least an explanation for the drop.

While these statistics are concerning for our democracy, what’s arguably more notable is that either party is only confident in the results of the election when they they think they’re going to win.

Where is the data on this? Genuinely curious but I didn't see it in the article and I think it would be interesting to see how this numbers trend for each party on a question like: 'if your candidate wins, was the election was fair?' then compare with the reverse of that Question

Given the purges and other suppression techniques the GOP has been using for 20 years I’m almost certain votes won’t be counted accurately. If they were in 2018 the Govs on Fl and Ga would be different today

Why is 2018 such an outlier?
-
Before 2018 everyone was pretty sure 2016 was fixed but Dems won big in 2018 which is why they're more confident about 2020, is my guess

I don’t have much interest in Trump’s nattering on about it, but I have a lot of interest in the number of mis-sent ballots, ballots found in trash bins, ballots with errors on them. The push for states with no history of widespread mail-in voting doing it last minute is a worry.
