Seconded. Kubrick took everything scary & dramatic out of Stephen King's book and made an empty spectacle. Jack Nicholson & Shelley Duvall have zero chemistry & it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't cross the street to avoid each other let alone be a married couple with a kid.
