I feel like DICE removed the lootboxes from Battlefront 2 in panic mode. I keep having empty lootboxes while I play, like the system had roots so deep in the game they could not totally remove it.

Yeah the solo is super vanilla. Everything looks great, but the level designs, the mission objectives, the narrations... everything feel super bland. It's one of the most boring single player mode I ever played 
The levels are made for PVP, you can feel it, it doesn't work in a solo mode. You can't go too far from the objective. The missions with the "heroes" are utterly bad. Sigh
