      ... Or you could use the term "early access" when you're launching a new persistent online game and sell it cheaper than the normal retail price since it's still being worked on

      I don't think that would be very viable to publishers, and having a "Early Access" mention on your game's cover would not be well perceived...

      I totally agree so I wouldn't advise to put it on the cover but I would do a digital-only release for the early access phase, then release it physically when it's done. It could avoid an Anthem-type release and take example from the Red Dead Online Beta that had far less backlash
