I've completely lost faith in Satanism after hearing that the Church of Satan doesn't allow convicted felons - including marijuana users - to be "active members". I mean, I thought Satan was all about rebellion against judicial overreach?https://twitter.com/ChurchofSatan/status/987853779876773888 …

Satanism has never been about rebellion against judicial overreach, ever and we’ve had an anti-drug position since the 60’s. You are apparently projecting rather than researching.

I've always enjoyed the character of Satan, as he is the first true revolutionary in literature. I'd believed that Satanism was dedicated to the ideals of Satan - individualism, freedom, etc. So I find it weird that the CoS would allow itself to be subordinated by arbitrary laws.

By arbitrary I'm talking about the laws imposed on them by Christian conservatives, among others. Didn't think they'd (you'd?) stand for that. And yeah, I've skimmed through LaVey's Satanic Bible. It was an interesting read. But it's not for me.

Again, felons can be members, they just aren't promoted to being able to represent and speak for the organisation Can you see why an organisation which is constantly accused of being rapists, paedophiles, murderers and cannibals would have a policy like that?

That's not the reason your co-religionist gave though. He quoted your church's founder:https://twitter.com/PragmtcSanction/status/988682543892328448 …
