I'm still not certain that Assad was behind the chemical attack in Syria. He's certainly capable of it, but so are Jaysh al-Islam, the US-backed jihadi group that carried out a chemical attack in Sheikh Maqsood (but which went under the news radar). More investigation needed.

Doctors are reporting symptoms of both sarin & chlorine. Using the 2 together is strange as sarin is far deadlier than chlorine. It'd be like dabbing poison on the tip of a nuke. So, Assad may have tried to hide use of sarin by mixing with chlorine (which he could blame on Jaysh)

Agree, but they're the most likely suspect, since UN already has found solid evidence of regime use of CW in the war. However, chemwar investigation in an active war zone is really, really difficult, espec. when instigators have strong incentive to deny access to site.

So many of these attacks 'go under the radar'. Guess it depends on who's radar is being used for targeting eh?

I agree. But Assad is also known for targeting and killing journalists, since day one. Truth has always been his biggest enemy. Add to it being emboldened by Russia’s veto. I would be happy to see him taken out. He certainly killed enough Syrian children with his barrel bombs.

why did Russia veto the in independent investigation proposal of it wasn't Syria-Russia sourced?

I don't know. But it's unwise to gauge anything from Putin's actions alone. He likes to confuse.

Are you certain there was a chemical attack?

I can't really be certain of anything about Syria from the comfort of my living room. But symptoms of chemical agents have been reported by several medical and human rights groups, so there's good reason to take it seriously. I'm open to all possibilities, though.
