I'm not opposed to that, I'm just not going to swoop in and defend him in light of his statements. I just wonder what would happen if the variables were changed. Would the people defending him now do so if this were a Jihadist with pro-9/11 sentiments fired from social pressure?

What Williamson said is morally consistent with his view that abortion is murder - and murder should be punished by death. The first part is mainstream - the second is radical but not unheard of among conservatives.

The real trouble in general with this story is that social media activists are bullying companies into firing people on ideological grounds - and they are caving in rapidly.

That's not intrinsically troubling. Again: if a known Jihadist with pro-9/11 beliefs who thinks gays should be thrown off rooftops were fired from Fox News due to social pressure, I doubt anyone standing up for Williamson would stand up for that person either.

False equivalence. The gays in your scenario killed no one. Many pro-lifers believe in their hearts that abortion is murder.

And Fox would never hire a terrorist sympathizer - let alone a terrorist.

What point is that? You’ve conflated jihadists wanting to execute innocent gays with conservatives who believe that if someone commits murder they should be executed.

I'm not conflating; I'm saying the notion that succumbing to social pressure = inherently problematic is clearly false by giving an example of when these people would not be crying about someone being fired.

You need better examples that parallel the facts of this case. Thus far you’ve concocted an implausible scenario and fantasized about an equivalent response in order to equate it to the facts. This is what’s called a false equivalency. So no - it’s not clearly false.

Calling for the death penalty for abortion is stupid, Ankush. It doesn't matter that some people see it as justified. If we seek to justify it through moral relativism, we could equally say that some people find throwing gays off buildings as justified.

Not sure who is advocating for that here. I’m laying out a clear and absolute difference. The gay dude did nothing to merit a death sentence - even by Christian conservative standards. This is all about the Overton window - which is necessarily internally relativistic.
