Hmm. I'm not sure that this is true. What does it mean to 'conceive of perfection'? The idea may be gestured at, in thought - or, I suppose, 'felt'. Fair enough. :)) The remedy is, of course, a rejection of utopianism as irrational and dangerous and incommensurate with (fallible) human nature. 'Perfection' always has been, and always will be, a chimera. Better to focus on the (tractable) problems at hand. Then no tragedy!
