Old conventions fall out of vogue as new ideas become our assumption of civility—posses aren't "round up", children don't work in sweatshops, and parents are increasingly advised not to lay hands on their own children! The loosening of prior constraints is just part of that flux.

Nate's and Gnom's tweets appear to be founded on the misconception that libertarians don't believe in societal constraints (i.e. laws). In reality, they do wish to impose constraints on society (albeit ones that maximise individual freedom). So premise of criticism is flawed.
