Is there a connection between the name Lycurgus and the hallucinogen LSD-- Lysergic Acid Diethylamide?

It's unlikely, because the word lysergic was coined in 1934 as an amalgamation of "lys-" (from Greek "dissolve") and "ergot" (the hallucinogenic fungus from which LSD was first extracted).

Good! Lycurgus must have been a 'proto-Christian.' They hate when other people enjoy life!
