Dunno, but a large proportion of them were jihadi maniacs who used their weapons to rape and behead civilians, and would later go on to form the core of ISIS.

A character argument isn’t relevant to the point that a small percentage of a population can impose significant costs on an occupying force of far greater power.

My point was that costs work both ways. Civilians with guns are more likely to go rogue than governments with guns (as the latter is at least regulated by rigorous bureaucracy). But this is where we're not seeing eye to eye.
