While you're of course free to choose any semantics you like for your own usage, that definition of "argument" isn't well-established imo. It's just part of the acceptable scope of definitions. It's also counter-intuitive, imo, because the term's technical definitions conflict.

To elaborate on my "counter-intuitive" pt, "argument" has technical definitions in philosophy, programming, mathematics, etc. and none of them entail any adversarial or combative properties so I think it's counter-intuitive to only accept that definition for the context above.
