"Rationalism is ridiculed by the left", who are these left you talk about? And do these people represent the whole "left" of the political compass? I find this an absurdly "overgeneralized" opinion, not to mention it's probably false.

Have you not seen the opprobrium with which leftist outlets like Salon treat people like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins?

Yes I have, but they do not represent the whole left, just as Hitler does not represent the whole right.

So? I see on your profile page you have retweeted remarks generalising about centrists. It's convenient to talk about things in general when writing messages of 280 characters. You can't expect the nuance of an essay from such things.

You literally could have included the word "some" in your first sentence. Anyways, I rest my case, since I don't think we actually have that much disagreement regarding what you meant.

Follow your own advice, and always use the words "some/many/most/etc" when necessary, and then it'll be easier to take your counsel in good faith.

Yeah sure. Just make sure you don't dwell in your echo chamber.

I don't dwell in an echo chamber, bud. Echo chambers are precisely the thing I rail against. Thanks for your concern though.
