I'm being called a centrist, but I'm not one. I was a leftist for 12 years. But the left lost me when it decided that pipe-dreams could be policy, science could be bigoted, victimhood could be emancipation, and dissenters could be dehumanised. I am now a political nomad.

If dissenters are the ones dehumanizing/bullying first,& not necessarily you personally, but any group of ppl/person,&,opposing rights of/justifying atrocities against ppl, then I am all for their dehumanization.

        whether a personal attack or not((although they debate/differ on your issues/rights,which either ways is wrong)),is irrelevant.It's equally FoS.So dehumanization isn't a problem,but the basis on which it's done,can/can not be,and thus can be debated.Not justifying right/left.

I'm with you. I'm no longer embracing the label "leftist" anymore, not that I don't have my own views. I do. I just don't want to associate my self with the current leftist. But I still don't get what do you mean by 'science can be bigoted'?

Decades of evolutionary psych research into gender dimorphism of the brain is now mischaracterised by many leftists as "white male science" that is designed to oppress women. This willingness to attribute malevolent motivations to people interested only in truth is dangerous.

Exactly. I used to be a lefty which is rather funny in light of the fact I’ve been accused of being right-wing by so many people (current lefties) in the last couple of years.

I don’t think I’m center, as I’m a believer in wealth redistribution. That said, I believe in community. Don’t think humans are built to see “the whole world” as their neighborhood. So, yeah. Nomad as well.

Not that I necessarily agree with every aspect of what you said, but this has to be the most healthy approach. Feeling the need to belong to a category, or categorize everything and everyone is becoming an obstacle after a point, especially when it has to do with ideas.

If we aim to judge every idea as objectively as possible, that is. It feels like many would rather die before this happens, many "leftists" included. On the other hand, maybe you end up giving too much credit to the fake leftists (=those who don't police themselves, only others).
