What's depressing about the smear campaign against Steven Pinker is not that some people are nasty enough to lie about him, which is to be expected, but that they have had such success when all it takes is a 30 second google to be proven wrong. It's as if people want to be fooled

Okay. I’m out of the loop on this one. Who’s making an accusation against Pinker?

Best to read this thread by Pinker's dedicated bodyguard,

Saloni @saloniumNo, that's not what he says. Saying otherwise intelligent people *gravitate* to the alt right (where they come to dumb conclusions & which includes many unintelligent ppl) isn't the same as saying the alt right are intelligent. https://twitter.com/alexwitoslawski/status/950608890852454400 …Show this thread1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

It's basically trying to convince people he's a Nazi, at the end of the day. And it's spread across Twitter quite a bit, so it needs to be called out.

Ridiculous! There are plenty of people on the right (I honestly don’t know anyone that defines themself as alt-right) that are highly intelligent and rather well informed.

I'm not sure how your point disputes mine.

Ah yes, I misread the "ridiculous!" as it's usually the first thing I get from people who have been triggered by me. Sorry @jeh7041

No problem. I just believe that the “right wingers are illiterate” meme is stupid.
