What's depressing about the smear campaign against Steven Pinker is not that some people are nasty enough to lie about him, which is to be expected, but that they have had such success when all it takes is a 30 second google to be proven wrong. It's as if people want to be fooled

Ridiculous! There are plenty of people on the right (I honestly don’t know anyone that defines themself as alt-right) that are highly intelligent and rather well informed.

Yeah. For a short and rather inconsequential clip, it actually spread quite a lot yesterday, see here for example: https://twitter.com/Halalcoholism/status/951079841561853952 … And then obv the DailyStormer thing is very annoying as well

His detractors think Pinker had in mind the Charlottesville brown shirts when he said "alt right." I'm sure he was thinking of people like Jordan Peterson or Damore.pic.twitter.com/3pjqzGPbm8

It's especially slimy how many ppl are trying to suggest particular anti-Semitic positions of some alt-righters are what Pinker was referring to by saying they sometimes speak truths. Pinker is of Jewish descent.

I don’t always agree with his positions, but I have no doubt that Pinker is fair, honest, and thoughtful.
